RightStart: P’kolino Little Reader Chair

RightStart is a company dedicated to providing safe, developmental toys and products for infants and young children.   Much to Jaden’s surprise, we received a large package in the mail the other day from RightStart, and he was so excited to help me open it up and pull out his new P’kolino Little Reader Chair.

I have to say this little chair is adorable and perfect toddler size.  Jaden thinks so too.  We picked the blue chair, but there are several colors available, including red, purple, green, etc.  Made out of a stain-resistant type of suede material over a sturdy type of foam, with a handle on the back, Jaden can carry it with him to whichever room he wants to be in….usually where Daddy or Mommy is.  It’s light as a feather, weighing only 2 pounds, so it’s really easy to move, but at the same time it’s not always falling over, mostly because of the width of the bottom.  It widens out toward the bottom to help it stay in place.  At first, it almost looked uncomfortable to me because it looked as if the seat is slanted forward and down just slightly….but not so.  Jaden loves this chair.  In fact, he wants to sleep in it at night; he’s been reading before bed, and we usually have to go in and put him in bed because he’s fallen asleep in his comfy chair.  He can also store books and things in it because of the pockets on either side of it.

Jacob and Jaden both have set up what they call a “reading room” now in the one empty corner of their room.  They have the P’kolino Little Reader Chair, a bunch of books, and a little table made out of a box.  They use the Lite Brite for a lamp.  With blankets up to act as a tent flap, they love to just go hide out and read or look at books.  This chair gets a definite thumbs up from both me and my kids.  It’s sturdy, very cute, and has a modern flair to it.  You can purchase the P’kolino Little Reader Chair from RightStart for $$69.99.  The one thing I will say about the price is that you get what you pay for, in my opinion.  Personally, comparing it to other less sturdy foam chairs that can be purchased in the store here, this chair will most likely last a lot longer.  We’ve already had it for about 2 weeks now, and it’s been bounced all over this house, and it still looks as good as new.  So, as a mom with 2 rough-housing boys….I highly recommend it, if you’re looking for a good toddler chair.

(Disclosure: I was provided the P’kolino Little Reader Chair, free of charge, by RightStart for the purposes of this review.)
