SweetPea3 Kids’ MP3 Player

The SweetPea3 is an MP3 player for infants, toddlers, and kids that is both cute and quite functional.  My Jaden has fallen in love with his SweetPea3, and he has basically carried around with him so much, that now the batteries are so worn down that Mommy’s going to have to change them.  He loves his music, and I’ve noticed that it does help to calm him just a bit, especially when played at bedtime.

When we first got this MP3 player, we didn’t realize that we could actually load songs onto it ourselves.  It holds up to 32 hours of music or audio, meaning that we can even put audiobooks on for him to listen to.  I myself am going to figure out how to record myself reading a book to him and then put that on there; I’ve even thought of having the grandparents do this for the boys.:)  To transfer music or audio, you just hook up the USB cable that comes with the player.  It will play MP3, WMA, and OGG files.  With three playlists, it’s easy to transfer the audio files over to the player with just a click and drag method.  The player actually has 3 buttons the child can click to play or stop, go to the next song, or go back to the previous song.  These buttons also help the parent to control the settings.

The SweetPea3 actually came loaded with songs and audio, including songs by Susie Tallman & Friends and audio by Jim Weiss.  The audio and songs are all great for children and fun for Jaden to listen to.  I love the fact that it automatically shuts itself off, so when he goes to bed with it, I don’t have to worry about digging through his covers to find it, in order to turn it off, thus awaking him.  It just goes off.  Of course, the book says to not let the child go to bed with it, because it could fall too close to the child’s ear….but the volume is usually kept quite low on Jaden’s.  It’s also not a good thing to let your child hold it to their ear for a very long time; however, there are many positive aspects to this player.  I love that it only takes ONE battery, unlike a lot of other electronic toys for children these days.  How affordable is that!?:)  Also, as a homeschooling family, this player is going to come in so handy for school this next year, as we’ll be able to hopefully use it for some of the audio that Jacob will be listening to; plus, I can use it to entertain Jaden while Jacob and I are working on the harder subjects.  For instance, I can keep rotating through different audio to help the contents stay new and fresh for Jaden, so he doesn’t get bored. With a convenient carry handle and a portable size, as well, Jaden can take it all over with him, even to the doctor’s office where he gets awfully bored having to wait.  The sky’s the limit as to how this gadget can come in quite handy for a frazzled mommy.:)  It’s a toy that can be used for fun, for work, for family time together.  With a soft rubber coating, it’s easy for a child to handle, and it can take the falls that toddlers often bring to any toy.

You can purchase your own SweetPea3 for $59.95 from SweetPea Toy Company.  You can even Like SweetPea3 on Facebook.

(Disclosure: I received a SweetPea3, free of charge, from SweetPea Toy Company, for the purposes of this review.)

I admit, this is a clever gadget for the littlest ones. I’m already thinking about Christmas so this might end up on our list for the almost 4 year old.

  2. these are really cute. My four yr old is getting into music and taking my daddy mp3 player. This would be so much better for him.
