I’ve talked about Tavern Direct before, not only their collection of wonderful sauces and marinades, but also the work that they do in support of NCMEC (National Center for Missing & Exploited Children).
I’m now excited to announce that I’m a Tavern Direct Super Insider, meaning I’ll be sharing recipes with you (featuring their sauces), as well as giving you tips for saving time when it comes to cooking up great meals in your own kitchen. These sauces will definitely take you back to the days of the Tavern on the Green Restaurant in New York City; they are a great way to add flavoring and spice to any meal.
This month, we had the opportunity to try the Toscana Garlic Parmesan Marinade, which is both gluten-free and Kosher prepared. This sauce is a very zesty choice that includes lemon, olive oil, garlic, and parmesan cheese. It’s great as a salad dressing, but in this case, we used it as a marinade/sauce.
Last weekend, my husband and I made kabobs with beef, pork, peppers, onions, and zucchini. We actually marinated the meat for about 2 hours before cutting the meat apart and placing it on the kabobs. That’s not all, though. We actually made enough to have plenty of leftovers.
After grilling the kabobs, we enjoyed them that evening. The next night we took the remaining kabobs, removed the veggies and meat from the sticks, and put everything in a skillet. Then we added about 1/4 cup of the Toscana Garlic Parmesan Marinade, and we stirred it up very well, letting the mixture cook over low to medium heat for about 15-20 minutes, long enough for everything to get warm and for flavors to really blend together.
This is a meal that is perfect for both family dinners or perhaps summer parties. Not only is the sauce used to marinate the meat before it’s ever put on kabobs, but it’s also used to make the leftovers into a nutritious meal the whole family will enjoy. You can purchase the Toscana Garlic Parmesan Marinade for $10.95 from Tavern Direct. By doing so, you also help them to support the work of NCMEC. Also be sure to Like TavernDirect.com on Facebook and follow @TavernDirect on Twitter.
This month you might also want to enter the Tavern Direct Tube Contest, in which you can create your own commercial for the Tavern Direct sauces and marinades….possibly winning a $500 cash prize!
(Disclosure: I received a bottle of Toscana Garlic Parmesan Marinade, from Tavern Direct, as a Tavern Direct Super Insider blogger; all views/opinions are my own.)
