When Dan and I got married, we received one of the best gifts anyone could have ever given us. It was a cookbook filled with family recipes from my mom, sisters, grandmother, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. We have used that cookbook over and over. This particular recipe is my sister Nina’s recipe….fyi, Nina blogs over on Country Mom.
She probably doesn’t know this, but ever since I was little, I’ve admired her cooking skills. She could take anything and make it taste delicious. She could can anything, preserve anything….you name it, Nina could get it done. Now I get to share her super easy recipe that we’ve made time and again, especially when we’re having company over. It’s Jacob’s absolute, handsdown favorite meal. Enjoy!
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 can pizza sauce (I usually make my own with either tomato sauce and seasoning or spaghetti sauce)
- 2-3 tubes refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
In a skillet, brown the beef and drain. Stir in pizza sauce. Quarter the biscuits, and place in a greased 13x9 inch pan. Top with the beef mixture. Then bake uncovered at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
Take out of oven, and sprinkle with cheese. Bake 5-10 minutes longer or until cheese is melted. Let stand for 5-10 minutes before serving.
