This is a guest post from Theresa at Higher Education

I have a small yet wonderful problem: I keep peanut butter jars instead of tossing them or recycling them. Their lids screw on so I especially enjoy re-using them. It all started when Claire studied sediment and settling and drainage last year. We kept 5 or [...]

St. Patty’s Day Treasure Boxes

This morning I had no idea what we were going to do for art. Usually, I’m well prepared in advance, having made sure I have supplies and everything….not this week. I’ve been so scattered this week and so, so tired. BUT with St. Patrick’s Day being next week, I decided to have [...]

I posted a status on Facebook last week that basically said that sometimes in homeschooling, we have to take a step back and reevaluate, because who cares about a schedule, if learning isn’t taking place.  There’s a story behind that status, as there usually is.:)

In our homeschooling adventure, I’ve caught myself more times than not, [...]

As a stay at home mother, homeschooling one at that, I have often heard this question.  But, for some reason, it got to me enough today to write about it.   I had a friend (a career mom) tell me that there was no way she could ever stay at home with her kids.
“I mean, what [...]

Not that it was my idea, mind you.

Let me start at the beginning.  That would be Saturday.  Things were fine, the sun was shinning, and life was good.  We were planning on going to home fellowship the next day, I had the meal I was to take in the crock in the fridge, and the [...]

Crab Quiche

We like to try new foods and about a year ago I started buying imitation crab to make crab patties for us. We all enjoy crab patties, but that was about the only thing I had ever made with crab.
Earlier this week I had a pound of crab in the fridge, [...]

The joy and ease real-life difficulty of detoxing
The first week of my detox didn’t go so well. I am ashamed of myself to admit that, but it’s truth.

Sunday, the first day, was great. I sailed through the day.

I sailed through Monday too. Until about 3:00 p.m. And then, I was hit with a ferocious [...]

Juicing | Week 4 of 52 Weeks to the All Natural Lifestyle

Have you ever seen what they recommend for a daily intake of fruits and vegetables? It’s pretty darn overwhelming, and that’s with the normal food pyramid. Forget it if you’re trying to eat 80% fruits and veggies in your daily diet!

That’s where juicing comes in.

Now, I want to say right off the bat, juicing isn’t everything. [...]

Thank you to Angie from myfourmonkeys.com for this guest post. :-)

This past August, our family had a blast planning our youngest son Luke’s first birthday party. Usually we don’t have a big hoopla on our children’s first birthday. We don’t live remotely close to any of our family (closest relative lives 11 hours away!), and [...]

Baby Steps Into A Granola Life – By Jodi @ Granola Mom 4 God

People get excited as the New Year rolls around.  Or maybe convicted is the better word.  They fill that first month with thoughts and even actions to fulfill their New Year’s resolution, with promises that this year will be better.  This year [...]

Week 2 of the Maximized Lifestyle

I have changed that however. I have re-evaluated my life and what my life purpose is [...]

How to have a frugal Valentine’s Day
Ah Valentine’s Day, the day to declare our undying devotion and love to the special someone in our lives. The media would have us believe that the only way we can show our love is by emptying our pocket books [...]
