Stay Warm with ISOTONER smarTouch Gloves {Giveaway}

(This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to Don D. on winning this giveaway! Thank you to all who entered.)

As much as you might not want to think about it, winter time is here. Whether you’re heading outside on a frigidly cold day or traveling to somewhere intensely cold, it’s important to bundle up and stay warm. So, how can you keep your hands and fingers warm but still be able to access all the features on your smartphone?

ISOTONER smarTouch Gloves are an answer to this common wintertime dilemma. Not only can you use these gloves with your smartphone, but you can also use ATM’s, GPS devices, gas pumps, mp3 players, etc. Made out of materials like nylon, polyester, polyurethane, and lycra spandex, these gloves have a soft, stretchy feel to them. The inside of the gloves has a fleecy texture, providing ultimate coziness when placed on my hands. The palm of each glove has a non-slip grip. Plus, the gloves elastically extend to cover the wrists. Gloves are also water repellent.

So, how is it possible to use touchscreen devices while wearing these gloves? Both the thumb and index finger have conductive thread embroidered into them. This thread conveys an electrical impulse to the device being used. What I like about the gloves is that I can use both the tip or the flat edge of my finger to do things on my phone or iPad. I use the tip of my finger more, so the fact that the threads extend over the tip of my finger is a major factor when considering purchasing these gloves. The gloves really do work too….you can really do things, even the most tedious of tasks; I have gone down through email hitting small squares on each email to delete, and it was super easy to do, but my hands also stayed warm. The conductive threads are in both the left and right hand, so anyone can use these gloves successfully. I would recommend, if you’re considering purchasing these gloves measuring your hands and then buying a larger size than you normally would. The gloves are comfortable, but they’re also quite snug. The only feature that isn’t as comfortable, at least for me, is the embroidered thread on the thumb and index finger. For some reason, it’s just a bit uncomfortable for my fingers….it’s very stiff, and, of course, you can feel the embroidery. It seems to irritate those two fingers. Otherwise, these gloves are a genius piece of smarTouch intelligence.

You can purchase ISOTONER smarTouch Gloves at retailers like Amazon.com, Dillard’s, Kmart, Target, Kohl’s, Walmart, and more. You can also purchase the gloves on Isotoner.com; prices range from $21.00 to $37.80; various designs and colors are available. Just a hint: these gloves would be an awesome stocking stuffer….

Finding a Great Fit with Lee Jeans

Let’s face it….sometimes as women, shopping can become quite the formidable monster, especially if we’re looking for just the right fit in a dress, a swimsuit, or even that great pair of jeans. As a tall, somewhat curvy woman, I have even more of an issue because I can’t ever seem to find the right pair of jeans that’ll not only fit me in the waist and hips both but also be long enough so that I’m not lookin’ like I’m in a pair of capri pants.

One brand that I’ve honestly and truly fallen head over heels for is Lee Jeans. I’m not just saying that because I received a free pair of jeans either. As usual, I was suspicious when they sent me a pair to try. I can NEVER seem to find the right fit….inevitably, my jeans always end up sliding down my hips and I have to keep pulling them up, or they’re so short that when I sit down you see my calves. I’m serious! It’s such a pain!

Lee Jeans actually sent me 2 pair of jeans, one related to a fitting I had at Blogher, where I went down one whole size! Amazing!

The first pair I received was the Midrise No Gap Antonia Modern Trouser. These jeans have quite the dressy casual feel to them. I can wear them to slightly casual business functions, but I can also wear them for everyday. They go well with dress shoes or boots. They’re available in several colors and have a very stretchy feel, so they’re comfortable as all get out. They’re made of 61% cotton, 37% polyester, and 2% spandex. They also have a no gap waist, which is key for me as most pants fit my hips but not my waist. These jeans really and truly don’t gap, plus they don’t give me the muffin top appearance, something I’ve learned I need to watch out for in jeans. They actually have a very slimming effect. They sit lower on the waist, so they’re also not making undergarments ride up. The jeans also have 4 pockets, including two flap buttons on the back. They have a wider waistband and no beltloops….something I was afraid of at first. But the jeans fit me well in the waist, so I don’t have to worry about them falling down, even with my slick Spanx-like undergarments underneath. The only thing about these jeans is that they’re slightly large in the rear thigh area, leaving a somewhat loose effect, meaning I may need to go down a size (yay!). However, it hasn’t been a problem for me, as I’ve paired them with the right shirts, and they look beautiful and are so comfortable to boot.You can purchase the Midrise No Gap Antonia Modern Trouser for $35.99 from Lee Jeans. They’re available in denim, sateen, or twill fabrics, perfect for dressy or casual.

Due to my Blogher fitting, I also received the Slender Secret Bailey Flap-Pocket Bootcut Jean. Due to loving these jeans, I’ve since went out to JCPenney and purchased another pair. I didn’t know this until I started writing this post, but these jeans were actually picked as Oprah‘s Best of the Best in Jeans, and I can understand why. They do have a very slimming effect, and I’ve actually been able to wear a size down in these jeans. They’re lower on the waist, but they still help to somewhat prevent the muffin top effect, which is something I deal with since having two boys. The jeans are a darker wash, also giving a more attractive look. They also do not gap….at all. That is one thing that sold me on these jeans, that and the fact that the tall size are long and perfect for my height. I wear these jeans more for casual wear, but I have worn them to some business functions as they can be dressed up with the right shirt/scarf combination/shoes or boots.

You can purchase the Slender Secret Bailey Flap-Pocket Bootcut Jean for $34.99 from Lee Jeans. They’re also available at JCPenney where I actually purchased another pair.

I leave you with this….if you’re tall, petite, or maybe even somewhere in the middle….try on a pair of Lee Jeans. If you’re leery about purchasing online, go to a local retailer and try them on first. They make jeans that really fit any body type/style, and  I’m a true believer after experiencing the beauty of two pair of slimming, tall, no gap pair of jeans.
