Stay Warm with ISOTONER smarTouch Gloves {Giveaway}

(This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to Don D. on winning this giveaway! Thank you to all who entered.)

As much as you might not want to think about it, winter time is here. Whether you’re heading outside on a frigidly cold day or traveling to somewhere intensely cold, it’s important to bundle up and stay warm. So, how can you keep your hands and fingers warm but still be able to access all the features on your smartphone?

ISOTONER smarTouch Gloves are an answer to this common wintertime dilemma. Not only can you use these gloves with your smartphone, but you can also use ATM’s, GPS devices, gas pumps, mp3 players, etc. Made out of materials like nylon, polyester, polyurethane, and lycra spandex, these gloves have a soft, stretchy feel to them. The inside of the gloves has a fleecy texture, providing ultimate coziness when placed on my hands. The palm of each glove has a non-slip grip. Plus, the gloves elastically extend to cover the wrists. Gloves are also water repellent.

So, how is it possible to use touchscreen devices while wearing these gloves? Both the thumb and index finger have conductive thread embroidered into them. This thread conveys an electrical impulse to the device being used. What I like about the gloves is that I can use both the tip or the flat edge of my finger to do things on my phone or iPad. I use the tip of my finger more, so the fact that the threads extend over the tip of my finger is a major factor when considering purchasing these gloves. The gloves really do work too….you can really do things, even the most tedious of tasks; I have gone down through email hitting small squares on each email to delete, and it was super easy to do, but my hands also stayed warm. The conductive threads are in both the left and right hand, so anyone can use these gloves successfully. I would recommend, if you’re considering purchasing these gloves measuring your hands and then buying a larger size than you normally would. The gloves are comfortable, but they’re also quite snug. The only feature that isn’t as comfortable, at least for me, is the embroidered thread on the thumb and index finger. For some reason, it’s just a bit uncomfortable for my fingers….it’s very stiff, and, of course, you can feel the embroidery. It seems to irritate those two fingers. Otherwise, these gloves are a genius piece of smarTouch intelligence.

You can purchase ISOTONER smarTouch Gloves at retailers like Amazon.com, Dillard’s, Kmart, Target, Kohl’s, Walmart, and more. You can also purchase the gloves on Isotoner.com; prices range from $21.00 to $37.80; various designs and colors are available. Just a hint: these gloves would be an awesome stocking stuffer….

Rockin’ Out with the Voice Rockrz Mic ~ Giveaway

We are a music lovin’ family….not that we’ll ever quit our day jobs, but we love to rock it out, dance it out, and just have fun whenever music is involved. Now there’s a new toy on the market that allows kids to rock it out at home, either in front of the tv or even with their personal MP3 player.

The Voice Rockrz Mic, from First Act, comes in pink or blue and transforms a child’s world into a stage for performances galore. This microphone actually has a few different settings. Kids can have the applause effect, a drumroll effect, and 3 different voice effects, including Hi-Note, Echo-Tastic and Robot-Riffic. My boys were completely mesmerized by the Hi-Note voice; I’m not sure why. Maybe because Jacob has watched the Fred movie over and over and over (ugh, just sayin’). No, but seriously, they had a LOT of fun with this microphone, and it did provide a lot of laughs, as you can see in the video below.

The Voice Rockrz Mic is wireless, so they can carry it all over the house or even outside if they want. They can sing along to their favorite tunes, dancing it out, not having to worry about tripping over a cord and thus tearing up equipment. Plus it comes with accessories like a blue skull ring and bracelet like we received (also available in pink). The bracelet and ring can be used to change the voice effects by tapping on a certain spot on the mic. We had a slight problem getting the effect to change every single time, but the kids still had a blast.

You can purchase the Voice Rockrz Mic for $24.99 this fall, and it’s geared for ages 4+. Be sure to Follow Voice Rockrz on Facebook.

The great news is that we’re giving one MamaBuzz reader a Voice Rockrz Mic, so your kids and their friends can rock it out too!
