Let’s Count to 100!, written by Masayuki Sebe, is not your average 1, 2, 3 book….originally written in Japanese, it’s quite the colorful, imaginative, counting adventure for young minds.
Each set of pages reveals a different scene, somehow connected to both the scene before it and the scene after. Kids will have a blast counting mice, cats, moles, birds, houses, trucks, and more. Not only that, but they’ll learn to recognize groups, as each set of pages holds 100 items, all grouped into groups of 10 each. Not only are kids learning to count to 100, they are learning to count to 10….then count by 10′s to 100.
There are also hidden items within each group. At the end of the book is a hint page that asks kids if they found certain items, and they can see pictures before they look. This is one of Jaden’s favorite things to do is to hunt for hidden objects.
Of course, the book is also a story with each set of characters/items revealing comic-like conversation. All sets of items to count are also different colors, shapes, and sizes, so it makes a great educational resource for thinking skills and different forms of early learning skills.
You can purchase Let’s Count to 100! for $16.95. It’s geared toward ages 3-7. Be sure to follow @KidsCanPress on Twitter.
