Our first Valentine’s Day giveaway is here!Etsy is such a wonderful place, and that is how we found Robyn Colledge, an artist and a muralist, as well as a native of beautiful South Africa.  After moving to California from New Jersey in 2009, Robyn had to start from scratch, and when a friend suggested Etsy as a place for her to set up shop, she grabbed onto the idea.  As a result, The Present Place came into being.  In Robyn’s words, “I was very excited to find Etsy, a place where anyone with very little money can set up a shop and try to sell.”

Robyn dislikes any form of clutter and believes that everything we have in our homes should be functional, as well as beautiful.  Many of the items she paints are just things we use every day, only they have been given a new, more beautiful life, thanks to Robyn’s gifted talents.  Robyn paints and sells several items geared towards children’s rooms and nurseries, but she loves flowers; so, in addition, there are many beautiful items for adults.  Robyn says, “My goal is to bring joy to others through my art.”  She can be found painting murals on walls more often than small canvases, and she gets much of her inspiration from the Impressionist era.    Her most popular items include her name art for girls or boys, large 16×20 paintings to match any child’s bedroom theme.  She also sells name art in individual letters on 8×10 canvases.  Here’s what Robyn has to say about her shop:

What makes my shop a little different is that you can get anything customized or personalized any way you would like it.  I can create any design, color or wording to suit your individual needs.  I try to complete and ship all orders between 7 and 9 days. I create each piece with great joy and take great pleasure in every aspect of each item. It is such fun to have my own shop!
