Jeep Overland Limited Jogging Stroller {Review}

Ever since Jaden was born, I’ve often wondered how a jogging stroller might do for us. We really like to walk for exercise (and sometimes I’ll jog or run), so it seemed like a natural fit to try one out.Kolcraft has created the Jeep Overland Limited Jogging Stroller, a stroller that is outfitted with some pretty awesome features. The look of this stroller is fierce, and I came up with that word before I even knew that’s how Jeep describes it.:) I do really love the color scheme (orange/gray/black), as it could work for either a girl or a boy. It’s a very “rugged” looking stroller, meaning it’s very sporty. This stroller has 3 soft-ride 16-inch tires filled with air. The front wheel is fixed, so it doesn’t swivel. In order to make turns, it’s necessary to push down on the handle to lift the front wheel up and turn. This was one feature I wasn’t sure if I liked or not….I really have to get used to this. It is meant more so for jogging, though, so I don’t really see us using this stroller in stores very much. Out on the open road/trail, it probably wouldn’t be much of an issue. It also has a convenient hand brake, which gives you control over how fast you’re going and if you need to stop.Being a tall person, I do like that the handle can adjust to various heights; I can’t tell you how much I love this feature in a stroller. I’ve had strollers before that were not adjustable, and by the time we’d get home, I was so tired from having to strain/bend to push that stroller around. The stroller is quite heavy at 27 pounds, but it does stand on its own when folded, making it easier to store.Ok, so how about that trip out jogging with your child? What can you expect? First of all, the seat reclines, so if it’s naptime, you can adust the seat back height to different positions, whatever is most comfortable for your child. It’s also got a 5-point safety harness, a safety tether, and reflectors if you’re out at dusk or after dark. Jaden is almost 4; it has a convenient step-up/foot rest that he can use to get up in the stroller, as well. Plus, it has cup holders for both mom and child. Not only that, but it’s got the IBaby sound system, which you can hook up to either your iPod or MP3 player, meaning your favorite tunes can be playing the entire time you’re jogging. For fitness reasons, one of my favorite features is the distance/speed odometer that tells me how far and how fast I’m going. It also has a large storage basket on the bottom, which comes in handy when out and about with small children, as there is always a ton of stuff to carry along. It does have a canopy for shade, but it doesn’t stretch over the child’s seat very far.Now I will say that our stroller had some issues, but Kolcraft was quick to work with us on the issues. It seems to be very wobbly, and we’re not sure why. It’s just not very steady, which would make me hesitant to put a small baby in it. Our son loves to ride in it, but the wobbliness does make me a bit nervous, so I’m careful to be with him at all times if he’s in the stroller.Interested in learning more about this stroller? You can find it on Amazon.com, Target.com, Babies “R” Us.com, etc. They normally retail for around $179.99. Be sure to Like Kolcraft on Facebook and follow @Kolcraft on Twitter.

Jockey Sport Review & Giveaway

Participating in the #31Days Challenge has been quite an experience, one I wouldn’t change for the world. I’ve really gained perspective on how important it is to eat healthy and to exercise, though I do still struggle with finding enough time to work out. However, I no longer have to wonder what to wear when working out, thanks to Jockey Sport.

Jockey Sport has a great line of activewear that’s meant to be comfortable and fit well….as the tagline says, It’s your journey…take it with ultimate comfort and a perfect fit. When I’m working out, I definitely want clothes that aren’t going to be annoying or constricting; pants that fit me well, so I’m not constantly pulling them up; a shirt that is sleeveless, just because it keeps me cooler. I received 3 pair of pants, a shirt, and a jacket from the Jockey Sport Activewear collection.My favorite pair of pants was the Relaxed Pant, which comes in black and is a slimming yet comfortable pant for working out or even for everyday wear. I’m very tall, so I was afraid the average size wouldn’t be long enough….wrong! It is plenty long enough; in fact, it’s downright comfortable. This pair has a wide waistband and is a very smooth, almost silky type fabric made out of cotton, nylon, and spandex. The pants are machine washable and can be dried, although I didn’t want mine to shrink up at all, so I hang dry mine. These pants are comfortable for wearing around the house or even out to the store….because they look good. They’re not your average workout pants, although I do love to wear them when playing Wii with my boys or walking/running. The only thing I would change is to have a drawstring, so as I lose weight, I could maybe cinch them up a bit. Other than that, I absolutely am in love with these pants, which you can purchase for $60 from Jockey.

The next pair of pants I received were the Modern Pant, which also come in black. I have not worn these as much because they are a bit too short, making them a bit uncomfortable. I do suggest getting the Long length if you are a taller person. They too have the wide waistband and moisture-wicking fabric that helps to keep you cool and dry. That is a nice feature because I tend to sweat a lot when working out; who doesn’t? They also have a handy feature on the back, a little zipper pocket you could put something small in….something you might not want to lose when you’re at the gym or out running around. You can purchase the Modern Pant for $60 from Jockey.I’ve never really tried a legging before for working out, so I was excited to try the Jockey Performance Crop Legging. This pair is perfect for things like yoga, dancing, running, etc. I play a lot of Just Dance 2, so it’s perfect for that. It comes in black and has the moisture-wicking fabric. It also has a small little coin pocket at the waistline. Again, I’d love to have a drawstring on these, but I also love this pant because of the excellent fit and the fact that I don’t have to worry about the length. These pants move with me as I work out; they’re stretchy and not constricting, as you might think. They’re smooth and almost have a silky feel to them. You can purchase the Performance Crop Legging for $55 from Jockey.

I had all the pants; now I needed a workout shirt to go with those pants, so I chose the Seamless Tank Top. It comes in pink, blue, or orange and has horizontal stripes; it’s really cute and stylish. With adjustable spaghetti straps, it fits me great….but I really want to lose more of my belly before I wear it out in public just yet.:) It’s really not constricting or tight at all, yet it fits and conforms to my body. It too has the moisture-wicking fabric, and it’s long in length; I love that about it because it goes down over my hips just a bit. It goes so well with all the pants, and it’s comfortable for any type of workout, especially as I hate sleeves when I’m working out. It could be used at the gym or at home, for yoga, running, etc.You can purchase the Seamless Tank Top for $32 from Jockey.

Of course, to go over the tank top, I have my Zip Front Jacket. It’s perfect to wear when I’m in my workout clothes and need to make a quick run somewhere; I’ve even worn it with other outfits, mainly because it’s black and it goes so well with most everything. It has a smooth, silky feel; it actually feels like it slims me when wearing it too. It’s got the moisture-wicking fabric (although I wouldn’t wear for working out, unless I’m walking/running outside on a cool day), and it has two pockets. My arms are quite long (as I’m so tall), so I’d love just slightly longer sleeves, but other than that, I wouldn’t change a thing. You can purchase the Zip Front Jacket for $60 from Jockey.
