Tackle Piles of Paper with the Smead Life…Organized File

When it comes to organization, I am so not the queen.:) I have to look to other organizing queens like a few of my favorite bloggers, for instance….Organize With Sandy, A Bowl Full of Lemons, etc. Of course, I also look to companies like Smead, who not only have great products but also provide a ton of knowledgeable tips to whip any home office into shape.

As a part of their Operation Organomics, Smead sent another great product this month, the Life…Organized File. One reason I really love this file, beyond others I’ve looked at/used, is because it’s easy to carry with me, and it also comes with handy organizing tools like 10 SuperTab folders, an instruction sheet/checklist, even preprinted and blank labels to help me organize financial, medical, or tax papers. It’s a chocolate brown color with a light blue elastic cord. I can close this file up with the overlapping flap/elastic cord, thus protecting the contents from falling out. It’s accordion style, so it will hold more than just a few papers.

This file would actually be really nice to store that important information you want to keep safe; it’s a file that you could easily grab if, for some reason, you had to run out of your home quickly with no time to spare, such as in the event of a natural disaster, home invasion, or fire, etc. (It won’t protect your papers against fire, but it’s just quick to grab.) I’m actually considering using this file for future trips. There are certain papers/documents I really need to have on hand, and this makes it easy to carry those papers with us in an organized manner, not just loose in a 2-pocket folder (like I normally do). :)

Smead Organomics: Stadium File & SuperTab Folders

Some of my family (namely my sisters) have commented before on how organized I am….or was, back then, back in the day when I only had one child and wasn’t homeschooling and wasn’t working from home and wasn’t involved at church….you get the picture.  Life has gotten so hectic at times that I let things pile up.  The room that shows the brunt of my disorganization is our office.  We tend to make the rest of the house look nice, and then we shove everything that we don’t know what else to do with, into our office.:)  I’m ashamed to even show you a picture of my desk.  I have tried and tried to keep it all organized, but it’s very difficult to stay up with it all.  I’ve come close lately to just taking a trash barrel (notice I say barrel, not trash can because a can just wouldn’t cut it in my case) and doing a clean sweep. LOL  However, I think I have a little help now, and not just for me….for you too.

Smead has launched their Operation Organomics, and it honestly could not have come at a better time for me.  They want to help all of us, who are organizationally challenged, to get organized in a way that works for us.  September is the first official month, but every month they’ll offer ideas and advice, even monthly projects.  They’ll teach us how to organize different parts of our lives in three easy steps.  They’ll even offer checklists you can use to help in the process. Right now they have a challenge to create a homework station in your home; they’re also talking about meetings, how to keep up with meetings and follow-up afterward.  You can join Club Organomics to stay up to date on the latest news, ideas, advice, and challenges.  It’s totally free to join!

This month I was blessed to receive the Smead Stadium File and SuperTab Folders.  I’ve been looking for a way to better organize all of my business paperwork, whether it’s order forms I receive, credit card info, contact info, articles and newsletters, review and giveaway info, receipts, etc.  This Stadium File is the perfect solution for that because I can keep my business info in this file, keeping it separate from our home files.  The file has 12 tiered pockets which keep papers visible.  I actually place my folders down in it (with labels attached).  I can look right over on my desk and find the folder I need, thus finding the paper or receipt that I need quickly and efficiently.  I also received labels with my file, so I was able to take those labels and just stick them on my folders after labeling.  I love the fact that this stadium file can move around with me.  I tend to do a lot of little things, during the day, out in the kitchen on my laptop.  I can just pick this file up and move it with me if necessary. My SuperTab folders are a wonderful addition to the Stadium File.  I received a pack of pastel colored folders.  The difference between these file folders and normal folders is that these have 90% larger tabs for better labeling.  This is nice for either longer labels or for people with visual problems who need the larger letters.  I love them for that reason, because I can easily see which folder I’m getting out.  They’re durable, sturdy folders that make life easier, simply put.

You can purchase Smead products online from places like Amazon, Office Depot, Staples, etc.  You can keep up with Smead and Operation Organomics on Facebook and @SmeadOrganomics on Twitter.  Club Organomics also has an interesting Organomics Calculator that shows you how much you can save just by being more organized.

Stop living a non-productive, disorganized life….together, let’s get organized and live the best lives that we possibly can.
