Healthy Odor Control Review/Giveaway

Having a house full of boys can sometimes lead to some pretty stinky situations.  There’s just something about boys….and I know girls are stinky too, but sometimes a mom needs a bit of extra help to get rid of odors that can choke the living daylights out of her as she’s just innocently walking down the hall, especially past the kids’ bathroom.

Healthy Odor Control is one tool a mom can use to get rid of those choking odors.  It actually works by releasing turpenes (essential oils) into the air.  These turpenes are antifungal, antiseptic, and antibacterial.  They actually absorb the molecules that are floating around in the air causing the odor to remain in the room, thereby neutralizing that odor.

I actually received the Healthy Odor Control Gel in a jar.  It came with a little crock I can use to pour the gel in every so often, probably once a week or so, as needed.  The gel has a very citrusy type of scent to it, and although it’s not so strong and overbearing that it bothers me, it’s still strong enough to spread throughout my house, I noticed.  I placed it in my bathroom  next to the trash can (that’s full of dirty diapers) and the toilet.  It definitely worked to eliminate any odor, but it also had the citrusy scent of its own.  The gel itself is clear and looks as though it’s cubed, and it’s sitting in liquid.  While it’s safe, being non-toxic, anti-flammable, and eco-friendly, I still just tried to keep it put up away from little hands, as it’s a very large jar of gel, and I still wouldn’t want my toddler to get ahold of it.

You can purchase the Gel in a jar for $$18.35, which is quite reasonable, as it is a very large jar and would last for several weeks, especially if adding a little bit, at a time, to the crock holder. I would definitely be prone to use this in a bathroom, locker room, nursery (away from little hands but next to a diaper pail), the kitchen, around a kitty litter box, etc.

Boudreaux’s Butt Paste Review & Giveaway

There’s one thing that moms despise….every mom and baby go through it at some point….that ugly little rash that appears on your baby’s bum after a particularly nasty diaper or even after a long night of sleep….yep, the lovely diaper rash that appears and makes your baby feel miserable.  However, we all have probably searched and searched for just the right product to help cure that ugly rash or even to prevent the next one.  That’s what Boudreaux’s Butt Paste, from Blairex, is all about.

Boudreaux’s Butt Paste is a diaper rash ointment and skin protectant that you can use to both treat the diaper rash and prevent diaper rash.  I received both the Original formula and the All Natural formula.

Original Boudreaux’s Butt Paste has one main active ingredient, 16% zinc oxide.  This cream has a thicker consistency and smooths on with a slightly greasy feeling.  It smooths on very easily, helping to soften the skin, and it gives a protective layer to the baby’s bottom.  I actually like the smell of it a bit better than the All Natural, but the scent isn’t overpowering or anything.  It actually really doesn’t smell that much to me, mainly just a pasty type of smell. It does have inactive ingredients, Boric Acid, Castor Oil, Mineral Oil, Paraffin, Peruvian Balsam, Petrolatum.  I don’t really have a baby to try this on, just to be honest, so I can’t say if it cures the diaper rash, but I would definitely say it’d be a great moisturizer for that diaper-sensitive area, just in my experience as a mother, having tried numerous things.  Of course, this is just my opinion.

All Natural Boudreaux’s Butt Paste is slightly different from the Original.  To me, this paste is much thinner, more like a lotion or body cream.  It does include the active ingredient of 16% zinc oxide, but it also contains ingredients like Aloe Vera, Beeswax, Carnauba Wax, Castor Oil, Citric Acid, Peruvian Balsam Oil, etc.  It has the same concept behind it, to both clear up and prevent diaper rash.  It rubs on clear, but it still has that greasy feeling and a slightly different odor than the Original.  This is going to sound weird, but it almost has a faint scent of bacon.  Of course, that could just be my early morning sense of smell for you…..

You can purchase Boudreaux’s Butt Paste in several different sizes, including 1-oz., 2-oz., 3-oz., and 4-oz tubes, a 16-oz. jar, and a single foil pack.  You can usually find Butt Paste in discount stores or drug stores.  You can actually purchase the Original formula, 2-oz. tube, on drugstore.com for $5.99, which in my opinion, is very reasonable and affordable.  It doesn’t take a lot of the cream to do the job, so it would probably last for quite a while.

Right now, though, we are giving away a gift bag full of Boudreaux’s Butt Paste products! This gift bag will contain a Boudreaux’s Original Butt Paste: 2-oz, Boudreaux’s All Natural Butt Paste: 2-oz., Boudreaux’s Rash Protector, Boudreaux’s Baby Kisses, and Boudreaux’s Body Wash & Shampoo!  You don’t want to miss out on this giveaway for sure.  You can enter by doing one or more of the following; just be sure to leave me a separate comment for each way that you enter.  I will draw the winner, via random.org, on Tuesday, June 22.
