TOS Crew: Lobster Network

Lobster Network is a social networking site, on which you can share, sell, buy, or keep track of certain items. The items can include anything, from books to movies to household items. The best part is, it’s free to sign up and use.

For me personally, Lobster Network is a great tool to help me keep track of items that we own. For insurance purposes especially, this could be quite useful. If you just want to keep a private inventory of your items (for example, the homeschooling items/books that you have acquired), you can, and noone else can see your inventory. However, if you’d like to sell your stuff or share your stuff, you can do that too. Lobster Network has its own messaging system for this purpose. With the click of a button, you can borrow a movie from a friend. If you’re simply looking for something that you’ve been wanting, you can list that desire on your board. You can include picures, as well, on any listing. This is a great homeschooling tool, especially if you’re like me and homeschooling on a budget, trying to find the best deals on the things you need for next year. With this network you can invite friends onboard with you. You and your friends can have your own “community” within Lobster Network. All you have to do to try it is to sign up for a free account; it’s that easy.

TOS Crew: BeeYoutiful- Berry Well

BeeYoutiful is a company, based in Tennessee, that believes health is in the hands of each individual person. They carry a host of natural products that are aimed at helping others live a healthier lifestyle, without frequent trips to see the doctor.

As a part of the TOS Crew, I received a bottle of BeeYoutiful’s Berry Well. Berry Well is an Organic Elderberry Syrup with Propolis, Raw Honey, and Echinacea. I know from experience that Elderberry syrup is supposed to help fight off flu and colds, so I was really interested in giving this a try. I’ve tried another kind of elderberry syrup before, but it was really bitter, so I didn’t know how this was going to be. The taste honestly made me gag a bit….I prefer the bitter over the sweet; it has a lot sweeter taste, probably due to the honey. As an adult, I take 1 tablespoon; children ages 6-12 years take 2 teaspoons; children ages 2-5 take 1 teaspoon. The bottle says to consult a doctor for children under the age of 1 or anyone allergic to bee products.

As for the ingredients above, here’s a little bit of overview. Elderberries have anti-viral properties and have been known to fight Influenza A & B. Raw honey helps the body fight respiratory illnesses through “live enzymes.” It’s a natural form of honey. Bee propolis and Echinacea root extract are natural antibiotics. Raw apple cider vinegar helps to fight against cancer, and it contains potassium which helps your body fight other infections and illnesses. All of these facts are taken from the BeeYoutiful catalog, but I just wanted to give you a bit more information on the ingredients.

I have heard many great things about elderberry syrup, but to tell the truth, I’m one who has to know all the facts before putting something into my body or my child’s body. However, this couldn’t have come at a better time. After studying up on it a bit, we decided to try it with our kids, since they both came down with a cold this week. I have to say that I believe it has made a huge difference in not only the discomfort of the cold but the duration of the cold. They haven’t seemed near as miserable, and within 1-2 days, a lot of their symptoms were only around in the mornings. Otherwise, they have done wonderfully. Getting them to take the Berry Well can be quite fun, since they don’t care for the taste, but it has been far worth it, in my opinion. (Keep in mind I’m not making any health claims here; I’m just stating what our personal experience has been with the Berry Well.)

You can purchase an 8-oz. bottle of Berry Well from BeeYoutiful for $18.00, or you can buy 6 bottles for $14.50 each. You can also read more reviews from the TOS Homeschool Crew.

(Disclosure: Berry Well was provided to me, free of charge, by BeeYoutiful, for the purposes of this TOS Homeschool Crew review. I make no claims as to how the product works, but I only seek to give my personal experience. All users of Berry Well should consult with their own doctor if they have questions or concerns.)
